The Bickel Brothers
A truly versatile group of musicians. In short, the Bickel Brothers Band boasts a unique blend of musical influences which all come together into a sonic jambalaya every time they hit the stage.

Formed in 2011 by founding members John and Patrick Bickel, and Gusten Rudolph. The goal for this band was simple; Play whatever we feel like playing!

One great aspect of this band is, that while its roots remain in Funk, Blues, Soul, Jazz, and Groove, it does not conform to any specific genre. Therefore it remains consistently fresh and exciting for audiences and band-members alike.

Slowey & the Boats
After hearing an instrumental version of the old tango “Orchids in the Moonlight,” band leader Isaac Stanford realized that he had never seen a band perform a song like that, and he knew just the right musicians to make it work. Slowey and The Boats came together in early 2012 when Stanford recruited some fellow Philadelphia musicians (including David Streim & Freddie Berman from the Amos Lee band) to learn a selection of old steel guitar instrumentals. In addition to Stanford on the steel guitar, the quintet is currently comprised of David Streim on the Wurlitzer or Fender Rhodes, Mike Hlatky on upright bass, Fred Berman on drums, and Brennen Ernst on guitar.

Dukes of Destiny
In 1985, five young, local musicians got together and began playing old blues songs in a rambling three-story house in Philadelphia. They decided to take the act on the road as The Dukes of Destiny, a name they got from a matchbook cover urging the reader to “Be the Captain of Your Own Destiny.” At first, The Dukes of Destiny played house parties in Germantown, generating interest by word of mouth. A gig at the now-defunct Taker’s Café in Germantown launched their public career, and 30 years later, they are still playing some of the hottest, most danceable blues and old school soul in the Philadelphia area. Today The Dukes of Destiny reign as Philadelphia’s longest-lived and best loved blues act.

THEYARD

THEYARD is an 8-piece band from the suburbs of Philadelphia. The band was formed during the pandemic, so all of our rehearsals and gigs so far have been socially distanced and outdoors (hence our name, "TheYard"). We cover a diverse group of artists (e.g. Stevie Wonder, Squeeze, Jimi Hendrix), well-known songs (Mustang Sally, Oye Como Va, Driven to Tears), and lesser-known songs (Superfly, Kissing My Love, It's Your Thing). Think 1970s.

Cabin Dogs
Based outside of Philadelphia, CABIN DOGS blend original American country roots with 70’s grooves … like a campfire jamboree during a cosmic meteor shower. Inventive, rollicking, timeless and magical have described the band's music, including its latest release Mountain Sun.

Led by twin brothers, Rich and Rob Kwait, who got their start listening to Pink Floyd and the Grateful Dead while playing wiffle ball in front of their house, the CABIN DOGS have become a staple in the Philadelphia area live music scene, releasing 5 well received records (including 2 under the Kwait Brothers Band name) and playing stages that include Newport Folk Festival and Philadelphia Folk Festival. Their shows combine tight songwriting with groovy rhythms and cosmic interludes all of which  compel melodious moon howling and strange dance moves not thought physically possible.

Velvet Shelter
Velvet Shelter is a 4 piece original band from Philadelphia. Powered by the Positive Energy & the Mutual Respect of its members vast musical influences & styles.

The band is able to land genuinely surprising curve balls against a sonic backdrop firmly rooted in the accessible and familiar. But that’s Velvet Shelter for you. The quartet can be described variously as alt-rock, folk and Americana shot through with a retro 70's vibe and yet… they are still something more.

They’re fearless, too, willing to write about the darker side of the human condition and all of its mysteries and pain... Yet also adept with high energy rock on the edge of a throwback pop song. Or graffiti a plaintive ballad with poetic lyrics about a marginalized hipster...and that's just the first three songs in the set.)

Velvet Shelter recorded their debut album @ Morning Star Studios with 2x Grammy Award winning engineer & producers Glenn Barratt & Dave Schonauer.
Midnight Flyer

Midnight Flyer is
  • Andy Davis: banjo, vocals
  • Dave Shepherd: guitar, vocals
